Do you provide tax receipts?

Yes, a tax receipt will be issued for donations over $20.00 CAD.

When will my tax receipt be issued?

Your tax receipt will be issued automatically after completing our online donation form to the email addresses used when a donation is submitted.

How can I get a replacement tax receipt?

If you require a replacement tax receipt, please contact us with your name, date of donation, and the amount, and we will resend it to you with the email address on file.

How do I apply for a grant?

To apply for a grant, complete the online grant application form. Please note the form is only available when our intake window is open.

How are grant recipients selected?

HBCHF considers recipients or projects that promote and/or preserve HBC history, expand upon Canada’s narrative, and advance Truth and Reconciliation with an accurate representation of Indigenous Peoples, contributions, and knowledge. We thank all interested parties for their application. 

While we do our best to support as many projects as possible, we are unable to fulfill all requests. Please note that should we be able to support your request, you will be notified by a member of our team via email that your grant application has been approved.

What is the Blanket Seconds Program, and how can I apply?

The HBC History Foundation Blanket Seconds Program seeks to advance reconciliation by supporting Indigenous communities, schools, organizations, and art groups that engage with traditional craftsmanship and textile art through the use of blankets. Seconds are HBC Point Blankets with slight flaws that are available for purchase to applicable Indigenous organizations for traditional Indigenous craft making, such as capotes.
